CRITERIA
BASIC ELIGIBILITY
In order to be considered for grant funding, the submitting organization must:
Be a 501(c)(3) nonprofit
Dedicate at least 85% of its annual expenditures to provide assistance to active duty and reserve military personnel, their spouses and children, veterans, or spouses and children of veterans
ADDITIONAL CONSIDERATIONS
Beyond basic eligibility, the Foundation considers additional organizational criteria as part of its due diligence process, including:
Strong, stable leadership and governance
Sound financial management
Ability to achieve impact
Deep engagement with those whom the entity serves
Evidence that the proposed approach is likely to be effective and/or provide a significant opportunity
Commitment to defining clear goals and tracking results
NOT FUNDED
Typically, grants will not be considered for the following purposes:
Individuals
Political or legislative causes
Debt service
To establish a foundation, trust or interest-bearing account
Endowment funds
Fundraising events or galas
Individual memorials
Religious activities
